Hi there. We have encountered a problem with the Catalyst 9500 SVL setup. We noted that the SVL and DAD could successfully be setup. However, after a reboot of the Standby 9500, the switch went in the Rommon Mode. We had to again issue the command : boot flash: IOS Image to bring up the switch again. The value of the Config Register on the Active 9500 is 0x102.
We will be most grateful if someone can advise on this please and any checks we need to do. The status of the stackwise commands is as follows:

Thanks Leo.
The 9500s are in production now. I am not really sure how to access the Standby 9500 to check for the Config Register value. But on the active switch it is 0x102.
Is there any command to check for the Standby Config Register value from the Active Switch.
Regards

you can issue :
##show redundancy and post the output here
Can you explain how the steps you followed to build this StackWise virtual to understand the problem in a better way?

Hi Guys.
We are scheduling a reboot on the Cisco 9500 SVL Standby Switch and will be most grateful if you can assist with the following since after this we will not be able to reboot the standby switch and need your advice if the below steps will be ok. I am suspecting that the Standby Switch will be in Bundle Mode now after we issued the command boot flash: IOS Image.bin - Also assuming that the Active Switch would be in the Install Mode.
Thus after Reboot of the Standby Switch,
1. If the switch enters the Rommon mode again, we will enter the following command
BOOT = bootflash:packages.conf;
But can i enter the above in the Rommon Mode.
Then enter the command install add file flash:cat9k_2.bin activate commit
But also can I enter this command in the Rommon Mode.
How do we also check for the config register value and amend it to 0x102 on the Standby Switch in the Rommon Mode before we reboot if required.
2. Then will reset the switch
Hopefully it does not go in the rommon mode.
We will be most grateful for any help and correcting the steps above and will be happy for any other advice as well.
