Hello.
Trying to save some budget to add a pair of Cat9200 Switches, and was wondering if the SSD storage on Switches 9600 are really needed. Was trying to find something on Cisco documentation but its not very clear.
Are they just needed for programability? Or would impact the performance of the switches in general?
I would appreciate the help

Those SSD Storage is not required. The C9600-SUP-1 have :
Dynamic Random-Access Memory (DRAM): 32 GB
Onboard flash: 16 GB
This is more than enough for device basic functionality. You are going to need the SSD for programmability and application on the switch.

1. The SSD is only there if there is a need to run containerized apps or something like ThousandEyes. In the grand scheme of things, SSD are rarely used in >40% deployment.
2. Plunk the SKU into a web search engine for better pricing.
