Cisco 2940 Ping Timeouts, Packet Loss

packettracer86

Hello,

recently a Win 7 user had several connection problems. The PC was connected to an 2940.

I checked the Switch and got Ping timeouts at different time intervals (from every 2nd packet untill every 20th packet).

The problem is recoverable and happens on different PC´s/Cabels with dif. OS (Win7, WinXP, Linux Mint).

I also used different ios versions:

c2940-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.EA12

c2940-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.EA13

c2940-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.EA14

and tried different settings like

duplex half/full

mdix

speed 10/100

and apparently speed 10 was the only thing that worked out.

CPU utilization looks also fine...

Any clue?

Greets,
