Hi All,
I have 8 x C9300 switches that need to be stack but I only have the 0.5 meter cables that ship with the devices. In the past I stacked the 3750s/3850s in a ring topology by connecting the top and bottom switches in a stack using a 1m or larger cable. I have heard that it is possible to connect 5 and larger switch stacks using a braided ring which allows the use of the 0.5 cables but I have not seen any official Cisco documentation to confirm this. Is this possible with the Cat 9k and is it supported? As long that there is a path between all switches, does it matter?

Cat 9200/9300 using the same stacking cable being used by the 3650/3850 and it comes in three different lengths: 0.5 (default), 1.0 and 3.0 metres.
Here's another thing, 3850 network modules can be re-used in the 9300 too.

Hi,
As Leo said, you can get different sizes:

Hi,
You can use the 0.5, 1.0 or 3.0 Meter cables for the stacking which is available at extra cost. As you said that Cisco is only giving 0.5 Meter cable without any extra charges along with switches.

i did some test last week, depends on rack layout, we may need diffrent size of the cables
since we leave each switch 1 U space we may need diffrent size cables.
here is my high level testing

Thanks for this. Very helpful. Was a 1m cable not adequate to connect switch 8 to switch 1?

yes you can , if you do not leave any cable bar space between switches.
since the requirement where we have to install to leave each 1U between switch for Cable bar for Cat(5/6) to cable run .
