I have a Cisco 9300l 48p switch. Yesterday our power went out and the switch came back up but it's stuck in standby mode (rapid lashing green light). What do I have to do to gain access to the console or get the switch to pass standby mode? I can not Putty in via console port....

thank you - Warren

I was able to access the console via the rear RJ45 port to gain access to the switch! The rest is history....

is that worked ? device booted and working ? so we close off if resolved.

Hello,

not sure what you have already done, but try to get into ROMMON, and boot the switch manually:

--> power cycle the switch.
--> immediatly press and hold the 'Mode' button
--> hold the button till the Status LED will go amber
--> on the console, you should be in Boot Loader
--> boot the switch (Switch:boot)

tried this. still get the rapid flashing green status light.....

Hello,

do you know what kind of power outage that was ? What color does the power supply LED have ? Try and completely remove the power supply from the chassis (as described in the link below), then reinsert it.

If nothing else helps, your flash might have been damaged.

Is this stack :

1. The  power down all switches

2. connect the console to master switch

3. switch on the Master switch, see if that boots as expected?

4. then  slave power on

5. then members.

still issue post complete boot log here.

sorry. i should have mention that.....it is not stacked. Single 48p switch

Also ever since the power outage I can not access the console via putty....

remove the power cord, wait for 5minutes

Power on the switch. Immediately press and hold the Mode button. Hold the button till the Status LED will go amber. Then on the console, you should be in Boot Loader.

thank you all for your responses! much appreciated.

We figured it out. I was not able to get into the Console via the front panel nor was I able to get the Mode button to work. I was able to access the console via the rear RJ45 port to gain access to the switch! The rest is history....
