Cisco QSFP-100G Bidi & (FN-TRAN-QSFP28-BIDI)

I have Cisco Nexus 9300 with (QSFP-40/100-SRBD) will be connected to fortinet device with (FN-TRAN-QSFP28-BIDI) SFP

will it work?

BiDi is usually compatible with Cisco equipment and not other vendors.

I have cisco device i want to connect to Fortinet device (FN-TRAN-QSFP28-BIDI), which SFP can work  (QSFP-40/100-SRBD) or (QSFP-100G-SR1.2 )?

Hi,

Have a look at the compatibility matrix. I see QSFP-100G-SR1.2 listed for the different types of 9300 models.

I would use "QSFP-100G-SR1.2" on the Cisco side since this is a standard optic and use FN-TRAN-QSFP28-BIDI on the Fortinet switch.

it appears you can use either one.

yes, both QSFP-40/100-SRBD & QSFP-100G-SR1.2 are standard now

Yes, each Cisco QSFP 40/100-Gbps BiDi transceiver consists of two transmit and receive channels in the 832-918 nanometer wavelength range, enabling an aggregated 40 or 100-Gbps link over a two-strand multimode fiber connection. According FN-TRAN-QSFP28-BIDI's datasheet it'll work in link lengths of 100 and 150 meters on laser-optimized OM3 and OM4 multimode fibers, respectively.
