CNA - can the configuration backup files be read?

RICH FRUEH

I like to keep all of my configurations in text form so that I can quickly read them to find errors, when going through CNA isn't very convenient for this.

<br />

<br />But, I don't really want to go to all of my small switches using ssh, and cut and paste the configs - I'd like to directly grab them.

<br />

<br />CNA provides a configuration archive, but they are all .jar files, and are binary. Is there a way to get the text config out of these easily, or do I have to continue doing so manually?

<br />

<br />Thanks,

<br />R

Hi Rich.

You just need to open the file .jar with the WinRar; download here:

http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

When you extract the files inside the .jar archive, you will see the startup config saved in there, so you just need to open it with the Word Pad.

Hope it helps.

Regards.

Oops! You are correct. I used to know that .jar files are just .zip files with the Java extension. WinRAR isn't needed - Winzip works just fine.

Thank you for reminding me - that solved my problem!

Ya wow thanks it is working good.
