I found how to set Switching Method for CEF, Fast only on above doc.
For configure process Switching, should I set process switching for both inbound and outbound?

for anyone else see this post
there is NO command for process switching, when you need to run process switching disable fast/cef
to check if fast/cef is enbale or disable do
show IP interface x/x

if you are virtual, there are bugs around with IP CEF and image you using
Try vIOS and test it.

It all depends on what Platform you looking to use - below document guide you what is CEF :

More information can be find below various platforms.

Just curious, why do you want to configure process switching (as it's much slower, like 10x slower)?

I just wanna see how 3 kinds of switching work, since I've just started to study load balancing
03-29-2023 06:29 AM
Ah.
Usually how packets are switched only differs in "speed".
However, I recall "true" process switching does packet by packet LB. CEF often offers that too as an option.
BTW, packet by packet LB is often also adverse to traffic too.

as I know the process switching is default
then can change default by config
1- fast
or
2- CEF
so process switching is by default there

CEF is default(I did my lab on GNS3).

if you disable CEF are the packet forward ?
Yes
so there is default process switching running in R
and for default CEF as I mention before there two Configurable process fast and CEF and CEF is default configurable in R
