Connect (4) 10Gb SFP+ to 40Gb QSFP

I would like to connect (4) 10Gb SFP+ ports on Catalyst 6880 to Nexus 9300 40Gb QSFP to provide 40Gb bandwidth between 6800 and 9300.  Catalyst doesn't have 40Gb port so I am thinking of combining (4) 10Gb SFP+ to Nexus (1) 40Gb QSFP port.

I have the cable below

QSFP-4X10G-AOC10M, but can't find any configuration commands on CCO.

Thanks,

It should work fine.

You just need to use this command to breakout the 40Gig interface to 4 10Gig on the 9300 switch.

interface breakout slot ?

Thanks Reza,

After this command, I can configure LACP to configure 40Gb between switches.  Correct?

Hi,

Yes, you can put all 4 10Gigs into one Portchannel and run LACP.

is the cable QSFP-4X10G-AOC10M.. requires SFPs in it's ends?

Hi,

Yes, you should be able to put al 4 links in one LACP Portchannel.

ReHi

I don't need all 4 port port channeled , I want to connect them in different devices , 1X10G to a switch and 1X10G to a 5520

Hi,

That is fine. In that case, there is no need for any Portchannel. You just connect each 10Gig to a different device.

HTH

Thanks
So do I need special commands to split the 40G port to four 10G ?
Another question: this cable has it’s SFPs already attached or should I order SFPs for this cable?
Thanks in advance
