I recently purchased a laptop without a DB9 and do work frequently with Cisco routers. Is there a method to connect to a console port on a router without a DB9 port on my laptop?

Hi,
Yes, visit a computer shop and purchase a USB to RS232C Serial Adapter Cable. I use ATEN and I have it for 3 years http://www.techbuy.com.au/p/28655/USB/ATEN/UC-232A.asp

Dude,
You will need console access first before you can configure the router to have network access.
