Delete VLAN Database 3850

Hello,

I'm trying to delete old vlans and have the database back to default on a stack of 3850s.

I've removed the VLAN.DAT from each flash directory so it has completely gone. Rebooted but all old vlans still are there.

I tried changing the switch to different vtp modes also and also the VTP domain name. Everytime I reload though the old VLANS are still there. I know I can manually remove them using no vlan xxxx but there are a lot and there must be an easier way.

Removing the vlan.dat file should normally remove all vlans on the switch after a reboot.

As an alternative u can use the no vlan 10-100 command and you can delete a range of vlans.

I ended up unstacking them and the VLANs had disappeared :-)

Hi Grant,

Have you tried deleting the vlan.dat file on each individual switch when not stacked together. Reboot each one then stack them.
