Hi

This price changes has no technical or feature relations.

The 45XXRplus chassis can more for a better price than 45XXminus chassis.

Cisco follows a long time criticized point from customers. The following price politic was not understandable, except to place the 6500 series in better position.

If you get for 4506 Chassis a price of 100%, cost the 4507R chassis 200% or the same as two 4506 chassis.

This only for one slot more and you need still a second supervisor for a useful application.

And the 4510R chassis cost so 250% of a C4506 chassis.

So the actual prices relations are now a little better.

It took me a while to find it too.  The difference is that the capacity to each slot is increased from 6 Gbps and 24 Gbps per line-card on the 4510R-E to 6Gbps, 24Gbps, or 48Gbps per line-card in the 4510R+E.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

See the below difference in its specifications.

4510R+E specifications:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps4324/product_data_sheet0900aecd801792b1.html

And 4510R-E supports only classic line cards in slots 8 to 10 with Supervisor Engine 6-E.
