Hi All
Just a quick question on the licencing for a 9K switch.
When we purchase a switch, say it has Network advantage and DNA advantage 3 year, does Cisco automatically apply the DNA licence from the factory when it is shipped?
Or, do we need to register it with our Smart account and get it to check in with Call home or smart direct access? for it to pull down the DNA licence.
In the Smart account, I can see the licence says available 1, in use 0, which means it has not been taken up.
Config on the switch is as follows.
show license all

Hello @carl.townshend,
The bootlevel seems to be set appropriately such that it should consume your DNA-advantage license in your smart account. Is this switch managed by a DNA Center, or has it been registered with your smart account manually? Can you post the output of "show license summary"?

Hi, it says
show license summary
License Usage:
License Entitlement Tag Count Status
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
network-advantage (C9200L-NW-A-24) 1 IN USE
dna-advantage (C9200L-DNA-A-24) 1 IN USE
So, how come it is not consuming the licence we have in our portal? has the above DNA licence been applied from the factory and shipped with it? if so why do we need to set all the smart call home stuff?
As I mentioned, nothing is consuming the licence we have in the smart account, it says in use 0

You have License that - License type: Perpetual
For that one no limitration, if you looking DNAC that is subscription, you can configure DNAC as License server using any template to push to device - DNAC should have you smart account configured.
check the video for smart license with DNAC :
