I am just trying to get a feel for how many people are using the L3 Module on their Nexus 5K's? Do you use the N5K for only switching or do you use it for routing as well?
Respond with "Only switching" or "Both". Add more information and your thoughts about using the Nexus 5K for routing if you have time.
Thanks!

Tervis.
Please note - that only nexus 55xx series support routing. So series 50XX and 5500 may be installed with different purpose at customer sites.

Thanks! I did not know that. I thought all N5K's supported routing.
I am more interested if anyone owns Nexus 55xx and only use them for switching. I'm guessing if you have a Nexus 55xx then you would use them for routing or else you would buy a Nexus 50xx switch.
Anyone else have any insights?

Yes.
Only 55xx series have slot for L3 dougther card which performs all L3 operations.
Also you will need base license - which is free and lifetime.

Alex.
