Hello
When we create trunk port that time we set manually encapsulation protocol.
my question is this. when DTP will use? if we set encapsulation manually then also DTP will run? or DTP will disable.
By default DTP is on or off? how we can see it. it is on or off. thanks
Regards

Hi
DTP is disabled if:
Switchport mode access is configured, switchport mode trunk with nonegotiate or if the port is configured with 'no switchport', By default DTP is enabled.
This link has good explanation:

Hope it is useful

My question is if we have set these commands then DTP will be off? because we are setting manually encapsulation.
Switch(config-if)# switchport mode trunk Switch(config-if)# switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
