Ease of use of show command

Hi Cisco guys,

This is kind of a requiest I'm going to make to increase the ease of use of show command.

I've seen some platform from other vendors that they use the "show" command to bring up the configuration under the sub-menu you are in.

For an example if you are under "interface fastethernet 0/1", when you execute "show" command it shows the configuration which is under fastethernet0/1. I've seen this very handy and impreves the productivity of the troubleshooter a lot.

Being a Cisco certified professional, it's really dissapointing why cisco has not implemented this feature years back when cisco competitors implemented this.

Just one thought for the consideration of Cisco.

For the example above, you can do:

"do show run int fa0/1"

It will show you the configuration for just that interface. What I'd personally like to see though, and can't believe they haven't implemented, is some sort of "pwd" function like linux/unix where when you type "pwd" it shows you where you currently are in the system. For example, if you have a 48 port switch all of the interface prompts look the same "config-if". I'd have to do "show hist" to see which one I was in in order to see the last command that I did, or I just retype the interface I want to be in to make sure I'm really in that interface. If they had a "pwd" function, it could just report back the interface that you're in, policy-map that you're in, etc.
