encpsulation dot1q - trunk SG300 issue

I have SG300-28 28-Port Gigabit Managed Switch (Firmware version: 1.3.0.62 ). I'd like to create a trunk port to allow VLan ID 300, and here is my configuration

#int gi3
#no negotiation
#switchport mode trunk
#switchport trunk allowed vlan add 300
#spanning-tree portfast
#exit

And I'd like to enable encapsulation dot1q on that trunk "#switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q" but it is not allowed on this Cisco ("unrecongized command").I actually I will send the packet from Esxi which supports only dot1q not ISL

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

This is normal. SG300 switch doesn't support ISL protocol, so there is no need in the command "switchport trunk encapsulation <trunk_protocol>". All trunk interfaces use dot1q to encapsulate ethernet frames on SG300.

Thank you so much for your reply. Vlan is always up "no shutdown" by default ? as it is the same thing "unrecongized command" on the Switch.
