How to de-activate 3750X switch IP Services feature?

The IPServices feature,  c3750e-universalk9-tar.122-55.SE.tar, of a stack of 3750X-48-PF-S switches feature has been tested/evaluated whether it is needed. The temporary IP Services license feature has been activated , good for 60 days, and the feature tests concluded. The mgt team will make decision whether to deploy the IP Service feature or not.

In the mean time, how can the IP services feature be de-activated  (without uploaded/re-installed the IP base image) and reverted from the IP Service image back to the IP Base image? What happens after the IP Service image license expired after 60 days….will it reverted back to IP Base features only?  Thanks!

Since you do not have permanent license, your temporary one will expire after 60 days and revert back to IP base

Reza

Will it reverted back to IP Base, c3750e-ipbasek9-mz.12.2-55.SE or Universal (IP base), c3750e-universalk9-mz.12.2-55.SE?  IP base will not support OSPF routing but Universal IP base will according to Software Advisor:

http://tools.cisco.com/Support/Fusion/comparereleases.do?mySession=89702&myStep=46&platformfamilyid=387&function=comparereleases&releasenumber1=12.2%2855%29SE&releasenumber2=12.2%2855%29SE&targethw=CAT3750X&os=Cisco+IOS+System+Software&majorrelease1=...

I would like to know if OSPF routing is still supported by Universal (IP base) image when the Universal ( IP Service) license expired.  Thx.

With IP base, only Static, RIP and EIGRP Stub is supported

Reza,

It means that IP Base does not support full EIGRP?

Correct, only Stub

Thanks.

I have the same question and similar situation.  Will the license revert back to IP base and how or when?  Is it once you reboot the switch that it boots into the IP Base license and features?  If you don't reboot will the switch continue to run under the ipservices license?

Nevermind... I found the answer in show version

License Level: ipservices

License Type: Default. No valid license found.

Next reload license Level: ipbase

Hi,

A temporary software license is limited to a usage period. After the usage period expires, the switch continues to use the temporary software license until it is restarted. Before it restarts, warning messages state the switch is running the feature set without a valid license. After the switch restarts, the switch uses a valid software license based on the previously described hierarchy. If the switch does not have a valid license, it uses the IP base software license.

Here is the link that you could use to request for a temporary license:

++ The software licenses are not affected by Cisco IOS software upgrades.

++ A software license applies only to a specific feature set.

++ A switch can have more than one software license, but you can enable only one license at a time.

Removing Software Licenses Using CLI:

================================

++ In software releases earlier than Cisco IOS Release 12.2(46)SE, you have the license clear license-level [switch switch-num] privileged EXEC command.

++ Use the license-level parameter to specify the software license to remove. Use the switch switch-num parameter to specify the stack member. The switch switch-num option is supported only on Catalyst 3750-E switches.

In Cisco IOS Release 12.2(46)SE or later, if the software license is in use (active):

++ Enter the “license boot level license-level” global configuration command to specify a license level different from the current one.

++ Restart the switch to enable new software license.

++ Enter the license clear license-level [switch switch-num] privileged EXEC command to remove previous software license.
