Does you play around with stacking Cisco catalyst 2960s and 2960x switches into the same stack? I realize that cisco says that using the usage of the same flexstack protocol can stack different models together. Does it Ok?

Here are the things you need to consider/need to be the same on the devices:
1. StackWise cable type
-Of course they should be the same
2. Same IOS Family and Type
-Same IOS family ex: 2960 switches, and same version, ex: v15.
Any mismatch on these, well your stack will not work.

Hi @Bejiening,
Just to complement what lsgabrillo said, you can have for example a 3750x-24 and a 3750x-12s, and your stack will work great.

Yes, you can stack 2960s and 2960-x with some limitations,
The stack ring runs half speed of 40Gbps instead of 80Gbps
The switches must have same software versione and license, like the lite version won't go the LAN base version.
4 switches only
