Hello,
I have a problem with my "6500 CORE" at the HSRP level
Basically, when I send down the vlan interface of DC1 I quit dripping that network ... from either side the answer is the same = "Request timed out." If I disconnect on DC2, I will not have any problems.
Can you help me?
CONFIG:
DC1
interface Vlan24
description --- Estadio_TS_CLIENT ---
ip address 172.20.24.253 255.255.255.0
standby 24 ip 172.20.24.254
standby 24 priority 150
standby 24 preempt
end
DC2
interface Vlan24
description --- Estadio_TS_CLIENT ---
ip address 172.20.24.252 255.255.255.0
standby 24 ip 172.20.24.254
standby 24 preempt
end

Yes you need the 2nd link then test again , it should work after that's connected

Hi what's the physical connection between theses vlans is it direct or through another switch ?
Did you check the actual physical ports inpath were in FWD mode when the interface was down , usually when HSRP fails and its not a config issue its due to the physical setrup or STP could be blocking a port when it goes down , stoppon the HSRP hello paclets speaking to each other
what did the show standby brief show when you dropped the link were both switches active ?

I leave the HSRP scheme I have mounted.
I'm basically ping the GW 172.20.24.254 from my laptop and the other physical interfaces of each CORE (172.20.24.252 & 172.20.24.253).
When I turn off the vlan interface on DC1,i lose the connection to that network from my laptop... and I get the following output :
DC1
sw_cpd1_core(config)#int vlan 24
sw_cpd1_core(config-if)#sh
sw_cpd1_core(config-if)#
Dec 7 13:08:00 UTC: %HSRP-5-STATECHANGE: Vlan24 Grp 24 state Active -> Init
sw_cpd1_core(config-if)#no sh
sw_cpd1_core(config-if)#
DC2
sw_cpd2_core#
Dec 7 13:08:00 UTC: %HSRP-5-STATECHANGE: Vlan24 Grp 24 state Standby -> Active
but on my laptop i lost connection to the 172.20.24.254!!
