Hello, what would be the best way to go about setting up an alert system based on a switch interface error/drop count exceeding a certain value ?
Thank you for any information.

Hi
Cisco prime can run reporting on error counts on switches based on the volume of traffic gone through the interface over a period of time , you would need some software or else you have to manually work out each interface throughput of traffic versus errors seen . the switch cant automatically do it or maybe you could create an EEM script to run against the interfaces and check what the count is and send you a syslog but you really need to know what amount of traffic has been sent to , to get an accurate result
