ip dns server command missing from ISR 4331

Hi all,

I wanted to configure a Cisco 4331 ISR as a DNS server, which we have completed on a number of 29XX and 39XX routers before. However, it seems that the command "ip dns" is missing.

The router is running uc, ipbase and security licenses. The version of code is isr4300-universalk9.03.13.04.S.154-3.S4-ext.SPA.bin

Does anyone know if the command has been deprecated and/or replaced? Or am I missing something really obvious.

Thanks!

Michael.

As i understood, U want to configure the Primary and Secondary dns in your  ISR router.

If yes, please try below commands to configre it.

 ip name-server server-address1 server-address2

No this is not correct. I want the router to be a DNS server, that hosts will send DNS requests to and get a DNS response.

In a 29XX or 39XX this is configured as:

ip host cucmpublisher.acme.com 10.1.1.1

ip host cucmsubscriber.acme.com 10.2.2.2

ip dns server

What you are suggesting is configuring the router to be a client, that will send DNS requests to a set of servers.

Thanks for the input though!

Michael.
