Hi,
We replaced a 3560 with a new 2960S and I'm only able to configure a single ip sla where before we had three ip sla entries on the 3560.
Obviously, one is a L2 switch and the other a L3 switch. This is an expected difference between switches, correct?
Thanks

This license is only for lanbase but the image is universalk9. Is that the problem?
No, that is fine. The image is unversal these day and you just need the correct license level which you already have (IP Base).

Hi,
Is the switch running LAN Base image?
from the config guide:
To use IP SLAs, the switch must be running the LAN Base image.

Thanks for your reply. The image running is
System image file is "flash:/c2960s-universalk9-mz.122-58.SE2.bin"
The message I get after defining the first ip sla and then trying to define another is (the first entry is ip sla 11)
switch(config)#ip sla 40000
Entry already running and cannot be modified
(only can delete (no) and start over)
(check to see if the probe has finished exiting)

This troubleshooting sequence.
Does the sla on the far end cause this switch to think it is still running when it doesn't exist on this switch?
Switch(config)#ip sla 40000
Entry already running and cannot be modified
(only can delete (no) and start over)
(check to see if the probe has finished exiting)
Switch(config)#no ip sla 40000
% Failed to post event to delete operation 40000
Switch(config)#ip sla reset
This will remove all configured operations, continue? [n] y
