Hello everyone,
I am having an issue using the Gigabit ports Gig1/3, 1/4, 2/3 and 2/4 on a Catalyst 4507R - I get an error message:
% WARNING: Interface GigabitEthernet1/3 is usable/operational only in gigabit
% uplink configuration.
Our software version is 12.2(25)EWA6 (cat4000-i9s-mz.122-25.EWA6.bin).
We have the following modules:
Mod Ports Card Type Model Serial No.
---+-----+--------------------------------------+------------------+-----------
1 6 Sup V-10GE 10GE (X2), 1000BaseX (SFP) WS-X4516-10GE
2 6 Sup V-10GE 10GE (X2), 1000BaseX (SFP) WS-X4516-10GE
3 48 10/100/1000BaseT (RJ45) WS-X4548-GB-RJ45
4 48 10/100/1000BaseT (RJ45) WS-X4548-GB-RJ45
5 48 10/100/1000BaseT (RJ45) WS-X4548-GB-RJ45
6 48 10/100/1000BaseT (RJ45) WS-X4548-GB-RJ45
We are currently using TenGig1/1 and 2/1 as uplinks. The Supervisor documentation seems to suggest that a later IOS revision will allow us to use both TenGig and Gig ports, although it is not very clear if we are running the later IOS already. Also, it seems to suggest that we may need a module in slot 7 - can anybody advise what we need to do to allow us to use the ports in the way that we desire?
Thanks in advance!

HI Oliver,
Its not working because you need to be running 12.2.25(SG) IOS release for this feature to work.
While you are running EWA which is an earlier release.
Request you to upgrade it to SG and it should work.
