LISP support on L3 switches

Does L3 switches like 3750 support LISP? Will they get LISP support?

And what's the cheapest platform to get LISP support? For lab, not production.

Thanks

LISP is the exclusive feature for the Nexus 7000/7700 and it'll remain that way.

Not sure if the Nexus 9000 will support LISP but I am guessing it will.

Hi,

LISP is now also supported on the Catalyst 6500 as of 15.1(1)SY1. Additionally you can use it on software based platforms including the ASR, ISR G1 and G2 and even the Cisco 7200 series. The platforms (though not including the Catalyst 6500) and required licenses are listed in table 1 of the Cisco Locator/ID Separation Protocol data sheet.

Also take a look at lisp.cisco.com for latest details and downloads.

Regards

Thanks for the correction, Steve.

If you have GNS3 and have the right code, then you can use the 7200's. Probably the cheapest option.

I used it myself as a proof of concept (to see for myself) in GNS and haven't come across problems so far.
