MAC Address Table issue

StarLog
Level 1
Level 1

We have a c9200L-48P-4G, I have 3 printers connected to the switch stack.
Gi1/0/39 - Cannon Color MF751
Gi1/0/20 - HP Color Pro MFP M283
Gi1/0/3 - Konika Minolta BizHub 364e

When I run "sh mac address-table" none of the ports show up in the report.

Any ideas why they do not show up?

Thanks

connected i take it as working, and you not able to see MAC address? try ping the IP and check you see arp table.

we have observed some time some devices on 17.6.X IOS XE, when we upgraded to 17.9.5 that fixed the issue.

but the device works and we dont see MAC, have not able to figureout what was the issue, only upgrade fixed.

Are the printers powered up and turned on? What is the port status? "show ip int brief" or "show int status" ensure the ports are up/up.

Yes ports up/up and printers are on

Show mac address dont show UP/Down status of Port'

Show interface status

Is give you detail

Hi balaji,

That makes sence, so I was able to create traffic and the printer showed up in the table.

No need upgrade it normal

If printer silent for time of mac aging the SW will remove it from table.

There is aging for Mac in table, it so normal.

Hello dear,

verify these 3 ports status. they are up? sh int gig1/0/39 status  sh int gig1/0/20 status  sh int gig1/0/3 status

Gi1/0/39 - Cannon Color MF751
Gi1/0/20 - HP Color Pro MFP M283
Gi1/0/3 - Konika Minolta BizHub 364e

@StarLog

If the printers aren’t sending traffic, the switch won’t learn their MACs. Ping them to generate traffic and you’ll see the entries show up.

We are all good, it was that there was no traffic.
