I am trying to setup a scheduled job to copy the running config to our FTP backup server. I've managed to setup the job no problem, but looks like the switch is ignoring the FTP username and password configuration.
I issued the below commands to configure the FTP username and pass:
ip ftp username <user>
ip ftp password <pass>
When I try to run the command to copy the running config to FTP, this is what I get:
copy run ftp://10.10.10.10/config-file.txt
Enter username:
(username) Password:
Login or password incorrect!
Login failed.
Please log in with USER and PASS first.
Syntax error, command unrecognized.
/usr/bin/ftp: bind: Address already in use
Copy complete.
Obviously I'm not entering a username and password as I had already configured that. I want to run this command from a scheduled job, which I have setup without issues. I cannot see any way to hard code the FTP credentials in there that works - any ideas?
I could parse the username and password in the copy command, but I wanted to avoid that due to special characters in the password that would break it.
