HI All,

We are using Cisco ME-C3750-24-TE (c3750me-i5-mz.122-25.SEG1) switches in our MPLS aggrigation layer. Now it has reached to 1005 VLAN configurations and do not allow to create new VLANs.

XXXXXXXX-SW1#sh vlan summary
Number of existing VLANs               : 1005
Number of existing VTP VLANs        : 508
Number of existing extended VLANs : 497

XXXXXXXX-SW1#sh vtp status
VTP Version                                    : 2
Configuration Revision                       : 0
Maximum VLANs supported locally    : 1005
Number of existing VLANs                : 508
VTP Operating Mode                        : Transparent
VTP Domain Name                           : SW2-ME3750
VTP Pruning Mode                          : Disabled
VTP V2 Mode                                    : Disabled
VTP Traps Generation                      : Enabled

VTP status shows that the maximum locally supported VLANs is 1005.

When configuring a new VLAN it gives below error message.

"Proposed configuration exceeds the limit of 1005 VLANs that can be supported on this platform. Reduce the number of VLANs proposed to be within

this limit"

Couldn't find any documentation explaning this. Seems platform specific limitation according to the error given.

Is there anyway to overcome this problem by means of firmware upgrade or similer activity?

Appriciate your experties knowledhe to get this sorted out.

Thank You,

Chaminda.

Hi. The data sheet specified 1005 vlans supported:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps5532/product_data_sheet0900aecd806e27b9.html

• VLAN trunks can be created from any port, using standards-based 802.1Q tagging. Up to 1005 VLANs per switch and up to 128 spanning-tree instances per switch are supported.

Ian
