We are trying to get the latest version of MRTG to graph our I/O but it does not want to seem to cooperate. I have tried using snmp v2 and v3 so that it would use 64 bit counters, but that still does not seem to work. The switch transfer rate is not being graphed properly on MRTG. Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Resolved the issue. It took a lot of trials before we hit the combination of mrtg parmaters for the cfgmaker that worked and now the results more accurately reflect what the interface stats show over a 5 minute average. Beware of MRTG on high speed interfaces (like Gb-10Gb and up). By default MRTG will not be giving you accurate results even with SNMP V2 without modifying parms on the app.

gp1200x,
We moved from 1G to 10Gb and like you, our stats are not reflecting reality. Can you share the combination of MRTG parms that you used with cfgmaker?
Thanks
