hi,
deploy pair of C9500-24y4c as new distribution.
realize this model use the STP long path cost for link cost.
now 1Gbps link on the switch path cost is 20,000 instead of 4.
Any advise if it is recommend to change the STP path method back to short? wat are e issues if i leave it default as long on the distribution?
i have a mix of old C29xx and C3750G switches in my L2 LAN env.

The best practice is to have all Switches with the same method for calculating the Port Cost. However, If you will have all those old C29XX and C3750G Switches on the Access Layer and these 2 new C9500H Switches are going to be at the Distribution Layer then you might as well configure the C9500H Switches to be the STP root for your Vlans and then all your Access Switches will use their uplinks to the C9500H Switches as their root ports and should be all good.

I am with @lagerplane since the SW is distribute SW and always distribute SW is root for STP domain then I think no issue keep long cost for 9500 and short cost for other old SW
