Hello,
I'm in the process of deploying a 5k and 2k environment in my DC. Currently have a pair of Nexus 7K's with a CORE an DSTR VDC. I'm trying to see what the benefit is of taking an SVI and making it my "management interface/IP" to access the two Nexus 5K. I would then look to create a vrf on that SVI and use that for the peer keep alive messages between both 5K's.
I would prefer to do this rather than have dedicated ports to each 5K as I see this as a waste of port space. There will be some devices that need to plug into the 5K's aside from the 2K's we are buying so Port space is limited.
Is using a SVI a good approach to go with. I know cisco recommends using the mgmt. interface.
