NTP sync with Cisco switch

Hi All,

I want my ESXi host NTP sync to a cisco switch (3850) which is at present NTP sync with a Stratum 1 ntp server externally. is it possible to get stratum 1 time from cisco swtich then ? what config change requires on the switch to become an NTP source.

- No that is not possible by design of the NTP protocol.

You can configured your ESXI host for time source get from Cisco Switch - basic idea of time sync is make sure all device co-relate with the time, so there is no discrepancy in time.

For security reason always suggest extenal face device to get time Sync from stratum. and internal all network device sync with the same.
