Hi,

We have a Nx5548up pair connected to FI6248 via a vPC. We had to reboot a FI (in order to configure more FC ports) ; following that reboot, we meet many issues.

The first log shows the vPC down showing the FI rebbot.

2013 May 23 12:31:45 sw-n5kup-fr-eqx-01 %ETH_PORT_CHANNEL-5-PORT_INDIVIDUAL_DOWN: individual port Ethernet1/2 is down

Then  we have some log %KERN-3-SYSTEM_MSG: fc2_nsh : I can not find any information about this log.

2013 May 23 12:32:51 sw-n5kup-fr-eqx-01 May 23 12:32:51 %KERN-3-SYSTEM_MSG: fc2_nsh_tx_frame: FC2 s_id/d_id/vsan error: sid=0xfffffe,did=0x0,vsan=11,rctl:0x23,type:0x1,oxid 0x1,rxid:0x445 - kernel

2013 May 23 12:33:11 sw-n5kup-fr-eqx-01 May 23 12:33:11 %KERN-3-SYSTEM_MSG: fc2_nsh_tx_frame: FC2 s_id/d_id/vsan error: sid=0xfffffe,did=0x0,vsan=11,rctl:0x84,type:0x0,oxid 0x7,rxid:0x44c - kernel

Can you help me ?

Many thanks

Nicolas.

Hi Nicolas,

It seems that you are hitting a cosmetic bug with the fc2_nsh_tx_frame messages. When a
san-port-channel or a physcial fc port is flapped you may see those fc2_nsh_tx messages.
They are harmless and can be ignored. Below ddts is open and describes the issue but it
has a fairly low priority and is not yet fixed.

CSCto71915    fc2_nsh_tx_frame: FC2 s_id/d_id/vsan error: while SanPO flap

fc2_nsh_tx_frame: FC2 s_id/d_id/vsan error: while SanPO flap

Symptom::

When an FC port is flapped the following warning is seen on the console

2011 Apr 14 11:31:12 d7-o2-96-1 %$ VDC-1 %$ Apr 14 11:31:12 %KERN-3-SYSTEM_MSG:
fc2_nsh_tx_frame: FC2 s_id/d_id/vsan error:
sid=0xfffffe,did=0x0,vsan=1,rctl:0x23,type:0x1,oxid 0x375,rxid:0x2ce - kernel

Conditions:

When an FC port is flapped

Workaround:

None. The warning is harmless and has no functional impact.
