OneX/TwinAx for VSS VSL on Sup-720

I have attempted to create the VSS VSL between two Sup-720-10GB using OneX modules in the sups and passive TwinAx.   This fails.  Neither switch detects a peer and the VSL remains down.   I have also attempted using 10GB-SR optics in the OneX modules and the VSL still stays down.   If I use X2 optics instead of the OneX it works fine.   

Does anyone know if the OneX modules are supported for VSS?   They work fine as uplinks from the 720s.   I have tested with 12.2(33)SXI12 and 15.1(2)SY1.

I haven't come across 'OneX' before but I do not think it is supported. List of supported modules for the SUP720-10GB are listed here:
