POE errors on C2960XR

Hello,
I’m creating this post because I get a problem with my new C2960XR switches. Indeed, POE is not working well. I am migrating from a C3750 switch and POE works fine for the same devices with this switch. Configuration is the same for both devices.
To be more precise, I get trouble with the POE of some IP phones. The IP phone doesn’t start and I get these lines in the switch logs:

May 3 08:59:45.129: %ILPOWER-7-DETECT: Interface Gi1/0/23: Power Device detected: IEEE PD
May 3 08:59:45.129: %ILPOWER-7-DETECT: Interface Gi1/0/23: Power Device detected: IEEE PD
May 3 08:59:46.149: %ILPOWER-5-IEEE_DISCONNECT: Interface Gi1/0/23: PD removed
May 3 08:59:46.149: %ILPOWER-3-CONTROLLER_PORT_ERR: Controller port error, Interface Gi1/0/23: Power Controller reports power Tstart error detected

Here are troubleshoots:

#show power inline gigabitEthernet 1/0/23
Interface Admin Oper Power Device Class Max
(Watts)
--------- ------ ---------- ------- ------------------- ----- ----
Gi1/0/23 auto faulty 0.0 n/a n/a 30.0

Interface AdminPowerMax AdminConsumption
(Watts) (Watts)
---------- --------------- --------------------
Gi1/0/23 30.0 15.4

#show cable-diagnostics tdr interface Gi1/0/23
TDR test last run on: May 03 09:19:59

Interface Speed Local pair Pair length Remote pair Pair status
--------- ----- ---------- ------------------ ----------- --------------------
Gi1/0/23 auto Pair A N/A N/A Normal
Pair B N/A N/A Normal
Pair C 33 +/- 10 meters N/A Short
Pair D 34 +/- 10 meters N/A Short

I have changed the wires, and it is not the problem. I have tried to disable CDP and LLDP on the ports, but same problem. I've tried to enable "power inline port 2x-mode" but it didn't solve the problem.

Here are my switch information (I have changed the software but no change):
- Model : WS-C2960XR-48FPS-I
- SW : 15.2(4)E6

Could you help me to solve this POE problem ?
Thanks in advance.

HI

what type of phones are they the model ?

whats the power supplies currently in the 2960 compared to the power supplies in the 3750 ?

Table 6.       Power supply options for Cisco Catalyst 2960-XR Series Switches

Part number

Description

PWR-C2-250W AC

FRU power supply and fan for all non-PoE C2960-XR switches, provides 250W AC of power

PWR-C2-640W AC

FRU power supply and fan for all 370W PoE+ C2960-XR switches, provides 640W AC of power

PWR-C2-1025W AC

FRU power supply and fan for all 740W PoE+ C2960-XR switches, provides 1025W AC of power

We use MILESYS iPIX-150 IP Phones.

We currently use 2x PWR-C2-1025WAC in our C2960XR. I've tried with only 1 power supply and same result. 80% of the POE devices are working fine, but 20% are not powered up : if I reboot the switch, it's not always the same equipments that work and do not work : it is random

The issue is the cable nearest the switch. Either the patch cable (nearest the switch) or the punch block (again, nearest the switch).

I've tried to connect the POE devices directly to the switch (so whitout using the building patch pannel) with 2m and 3m wires. I have the same problem. I've tried Cat6, Cat6A and Cat7 cables. If I connect the same cable on an old Catalyst 3750 it works fine. If I reconnect the cable on the C2960XR it doesn't work.

Is there less security on POE on the old Catalyst switches?

maybe theres a fault on the switch itself the amount of power its able to give out is being limited somehow
