PoE Power-Deny

lat_core92

Level 1

Hi

I have been having problems lately.
It is about a C4500 switch.
The switch is using POE + and the power seems to be sufficient.
However, it shows that when the CCTV is actually connected, the power is insufficient.

Other switches were resolved by rebooting. but it will happen again

In the past between CDP and LLDP active.

Current state is lldp up, cdp disable.

I wonder why.

%ILPOWER-5-ILPOWER_POWER_DENY: Interface Gi3/48: inline power denied. Reason: Requested power(16211) exceeds interface or module capability.

Can you post the complete output to the following commands:

  1. sh module; and
  2. sh power detail

It was confirmed that the supply power per slot was different in C4510

what does that mean? I'm having the same problem on a C4510

I ran into this same issue. I had a large amount of system wide power available on my 4510, yet still getting a power-deny on interfaces. lat_core92 is referring to the inline power limit for modules. From the first table in the 4500 datasheet, the maximum inline power is 1500W for slots 1 and 2; 750W slots 3, 4, and 7-10.
