What a coincidence! I am getting the exact same error on a brand new Cisco 891 that I just deployed.

Hello. I have 3 of the 891 routers with the same error.
Sep 6 11:46:45.387: %PQII_PRO_FE-1-TXERR: GigabitEthernet0: Fatal transmit error. Restarting...
I have no sevice contact (smart net) but hardware is younger than three months.
Have the TAC solution for this problem or should I use warranty?
May be ther is a defective batch of 891 routers?

Hi,
"%PQII_PRO_FE-1-TXERR: GigabitEthernet0: Fatal transmit error. Restarting"
This message means tx ring of the interface is stuck so this port could not send
traffic at that time and this port is being restarted.
++ Are we seeing any "unknown protocol drops"?. If it so then we need to check the
peer connected to the interface/tunnel.
I found a bug (CSCtb54459), but it is in verified state.http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?
method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCtb54459
1st Found-In 15.1T
Hope this helps
cheers

I am seeing this on a 881 with 15.0(1)M7, connected 10Mb half duplex to cable modem.
The bug above cannot be displayed due to "not being correctly assigned to a product".
Can someone from Cisco shed some more information ?

Thanks for the info.
Seems like hardcoding speed and duplex chased away the issue with present IOS.

FE4 is currentlyset to auto/auto. did you hardcode yours to 100/full and then the error disappeared? thanks in advance!

Hi johnlloyd_13,
Did you try the trick of fixing in 100/full? Did it resolve the problem?
I'm facing the same problem with a 881 on 12.4(22r)YB5.
Regards,
Gauthier

Hi,
If I remember correctly, I did hardcode FE4 to 100/full and the error log stopped.
