Hi everyone. I am having a problem that I cannot figure out. I tried to bounce a couple of ports by issuing the following command:
int gi1/0/20
shut
no shut
The interface now shows as Administratively down. When I do a show run, I still see the "shutdown" command on the interface. I can issue "no shut" 6 ways to Sunday, but the command won't clear and the port won't come up.
Any suggestions? I've done this dozens of times and never had something like this happen.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Can you make the interface as default interface and put the configurations one by one and check.
The shutdown command stays in the running config of the interface thats why.
To make interface default,
conf t
default interface gig 1/0/20
no shut
exit.
Hope this helps
Cheers
Somu

Anyway to find out what Errors it saw?

I too have this problem. First I am seeking to upgrade the IOS to a higher version. Or still retain the same version but replace the one that gives this error..If this is a hardware problem, I wonder how all the ports just died by themselves and not other components... So please try replacing the IOS and see..I shall give my feedback after the IOS replacement goes through successfully.

Maybe it's in "error-disable"?

We just repair CISCO WS-2960S-F48LPS-L V01 from customer, 3 units with POST error : Inline power post failed on port XX / can't be brought up because it failed POST in Inline Power test.
The error comes up during Cisco power on self test (POST) on POE loopback test in each port. When a port or some have problem, it will report error and shutdown / disable the port or whole ports of the interface.
We have successfully fix the POE module and power controller on the mainboard.
