Problem with Cisco 2801

I can connect to the Cisco 2801 with console cable and this is the log file

% Password:  timeout expired!


Router2801 con0 is now available

What's the problem with my router?

It could be that the console line has a very short exec-timeout configured e.g.

#line con 0

#exec-timeout 0 1

This would cause it to timeout after just one second. Can you telnet to the router? The VTY lines might be configured differently. Failing that you could just do a password recovery and blow the config away and start again.
