Hi,
I hope this post finds you all in paramount of your good health. We have been facing strange problem with out VTP Client Switches.... they show some 13 discovered VTP VLAN ( idealy it should be 33). This phenomenon is occuring with some 3 access switches (All 4506)... rest 5 switches (VTP Client) are working fine(again 4506 with IOS).I feel that there shoudnt be any problem with our VTP server (6509).
Can I have some solutions on this?
Thanks and Regards,

Hi Mayank,
DO " show vtp status" on the access switches and check for the VTP revision number. It should match on both the servers and client. try creating some dummy vlan on 6509 and see if that vlan travels to the acess switches. If you dont see dummy vlan on access switches, then there is an end-end config/ port problem.
Start checking the trunk config's on the switches and then see if traffic is passing via the trunks.
Let us know if you need more help.

Hi Mayank,
Check out whether all the VLANS are allowed on the trunks to these switches
Might be a VTP password mismatch too

Hi,
few things to check .....
Is VTP domain name configured on access swicthes which have discovered 13 VLANS same with the VTP domain name configured on VTP server 6509?
Is trunk link between access switches and VTP server working?
Is VTP pruning enabled on switches?
Is VTP authentication password if configured matching between VTP client and VTP server switches?
Are all access switches configured for client mode?
pl verify these things ... Hope it helps .. rate if it does ...

Thanks Amit Sir... and thanks everyone for the valuable suggestions... the issue is solved. It was an end-to-end trunk problem.
Thanks a Lot
