unable to find any concrete info on taking 2 ports assigning a vlan to then & joining them together via lacp
does not like the vlan - have seen command line instances but not for this switch - any assistance appreciated

I have noticed some people having issue with SG500X and 500 is ok as per the inputs. i am not a great user of SG models
try to help you with below and technically it should work : (make sure you bind the correct VLAN association)

i am unable to find the last step where the vlans are assigned to the lag not the ports
re: At this point you need to add your LAG interface into the appropriate VLAN, or more likely set it as a Trunk.
