Slot position on router 7609

On my router 7609, I've these modules as follows:

slot3: SFM 16 port 1000mb GBIC

slot4: 48 port 10/100mb RJ45

slot5: Sup engine 720

slot7: SFM 48 port 10/100mb RJ45

slot8: 8 port 1000mb GBIC enhanced QoS

slot9: CEF720 4 port 10G Ethernet

So, as you see, I can insert a new card in slot 2 or slot 6 since they're available.

I'd like to know if slot 6 is reserved for redundant sup card? In this case, slot 2 is best suited. Am I right?

How about slot 1?

Hi

You are absolutely rite on the reservation for redundant sup card placement in slot 6.

Better to utilsie slot 1 or slot 2 for installing the new card.
