Hi every one

I have a doubt. how to add a device to an SNMP community?.

I mean the community already exists and it is already monitorizing by a PC (monitoring tests are performed in implemantacion possible).  and there are several teams that are monitored, but is thought to put other devices for monitoring, which makes me wonder: how do  new devices could be added?  Do I have to configure any ACL?

Hello Johnnatan,

I hope I am understanding you right. I believe you are asking how you would add a cisco IOS device to be monitored by your NMS.

To add a device to a SNMP community: snmp-server community "name-of-desired-community" "RO or RW"

So if you wanted to add a router to the SNMP community "cisco" and allow only Read-Only access you would:

snmp-server community cisco RO
