Hi,

I am preparing a stack with two switches the second switch was a  member of another stack.

The first switch has all the  configurations like SNMP spanning tree, VLAN,

I had erased the previous configuration from the second switch except for VLAN .dat

The above procedure is ok  or it has any concern

Thanks

  1. All switches must either be in Install Mode or Bundle Mode
  2. All switches must have the same license level
  3. Power down the two additional switches before connecting the stacking cable
  4. Two additional switches must not have any config on them, including VLAN.dat file.

Hi @Leo Laohoo

So I have to do write erase

,delete vlan.dat

and remove previous  stack infos

Thanks

Erase the config.

Delete the VLAN.dat file.

That's it.

not sure what model :

1. make sure both should be compatable models, and IOS code should same (most of the time)

2.  Tips to Add a Switch as a Master to the Stack (below guide show you how you can do)
