Stackwise Version Mismatch

I am currently trying to stack two 3750’s. However, I am getting a Version mismatch issue. This is my first time stacking two switches, so I am not sure why the versions are off. Both switches are running IOS 12.2. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great. I have added the versions for both switches below, as well as the show switch commanSwitchingd on the master switch. Please let me know if I can provide anything else.

Show switch command:

FYI:  For the "plain" 3750, use the latest 12.2(55)SE because it is the most stable firmware around.

Hi,

It appears that you are using 2 different software versions. In order to stack the switches together, you need to install the same version on both chassis

122-35.SE5

12.2(55)SE5

make sure both should be same version as basic principle stacking

You're running two different release trains, 35 and 55.  Very likely their embedded stack ring software differs too much.  Running the  exactly same (although not always required to insure stack ring software is compatible) IOS release, as suggested both by Balaji and Reza is the safe/common way to avoid such issues.

Do you perhaps know where I can get this firmware file from?

Download from Cisco Software site with your CCO account  - or if the same device and model, Copy from other device to mismatch devices.

Plain 3750 firmware can be downloaded HERE.

NOTE:

  1. Download the TAR file.
  2. You are going from a very old version to something recent.  There will be a mandatory micro-code upgrade and this will take up to 45 minutes.  Do not fret.  This is just a one-off and subsequent reboot will be <6 minutes.
  3. Upload the firmware to the switches using the following command:

archive download-sw /image tftp://<TFTP IP ADDRESS>/<IOS FILENAME>.tar
