Hello,

I have cisco core 4500 configured on it DHCP, The DHCP POOL configured and IP excluded range was configured too.

The PC's and Printer taking automatically the IP's, but when I setup static IP on PC & printer I can't ping the default gateway and PC can't access to the internet?

 - I can't see the purpose of this 'static exercise' which is indeed prone to errors. if certain parameters are not entered correctly; keep using DHCP as much as possible.

Hi @zamoha009,

Could you show us the DHCP pool configured for those devices and the ip parameters that you are configuring?

It would be useful if you also show us the configuration of the interface where the gateway of that network is hosted.

Hello,

post the config of your 4500. In addition to the other post, you can also create a static DHCP mapping for your printers and PCs.

Why not reserve the IP address for the MAC Address, and set the Device to use DHCP, so Device get right IP address what you looking to achieve, can you post the screen of the IP address information from your PC ?

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

Hello

The best solution would be to use dhcp and reserve the ip addressing against each static host or printer, meaning these hosts will be configured to use dhcp and their allocated ip addresses will always be assigned to them so from the hosts perspective they are just using dhcp like any other host.

To accomplish this you need to reserve each individual ip addresses in the dhcp scope against each host mac- address, This way you wont have to configure any host manually and also you are least prone to any ip address conflicts or mis-configuration.

What type dhcp server are you using?

Hello Paul,

I'm using Cisco core 4500-x, I know this solution to resolve the IP and mac for the specific machine.

my concern as I remember when you put static on pc or printer from excluded it will reachable toward the core, but on this core 4500-x  it doesn't work.

Hi Zamoha,

It should be straight forward would you please share the running configuration and connectivity flow in order to provide you with the solution.
