Hello,
See diagram attached.
I am planning on implementing the topology depicted on the diagram and wanted to find out if ASAs use BPDUs when their ports are configured as 802.1q ports. Since switch-a and switch-c are connected to asa-a (active) and the roles of their ports are set to Desg, does that mean that the ASAs are participating on STP?
Thanks in advance,
~zK

Hi,
If you run the ASA in routed mode, that's still a layer 3 interface on the ASA, and like any other layer3 interface, does not participate/run BPDU's; any received BPDU's will be dropped ingress on the ASA.

Cristian Matei.
