We are planning a migration from 4507 VSS cores to 9606 SVL cores. I have seen posts about VSS to VSS domain MEC interconnections and SVL to SVL domain interconnections, but do not know if the underlying technology differences if any would prevent me from interconnecting VSS to SVL for the migration duration. This would be done in typical fashion where each member has a connection to each other member using MEC. It would be great to hear from a Cisco employee if possible that is a not problem along with any other advice. Thanks in advance.

Part of your Migration you can have Layer 2 Port-channel between VSS and SVL connection.
Make some measure if you have below :
1. VTP Server (make sure both not conflicts each other)
2. Make sure all the VLAN STP high priority one of the switch to be root.
3. if you have any Layer 3 SVI - make sure you create on new switch (put then in shutdown mode) - After you move all physical connection, then shut and unshut on the new device (this will have small blip in the network) - depends on what STP you using.
4. as mentioned above - Either big-bag migration and each service SVI Migration depends on service outage you have.
