Hi everyone,
I got a problem switchport error disabled by itself, using network assistant I can see the error with this description:
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
This port has been disabled because link has been found to be fluctuating between up and down states rapidly.
Reason could be bad physical connector hardware or drivers on the switch port or connection device is faulty.
Recommendation: Replace physical connector or upgrade drivers on switchport or try replacing cable and enable port again

Have anyone experienced this? The solution I have done is by 'shutdown' and 'no shutdown' the port, then it will work fine.
I need clearer explanation about this sentence "link has been found to be fluctuating between up and down states rapidly".
And what is the best solution for this?
*switch is running on ios 12.2(53r)SE
Thanks

What device is this? Did you try moving the device to another port to see if the problem moves with it? If so, then the cable or the device is probably bad. If you don't see the same problem on a different port with the same device and cable, then the problem is probably with the switchport that it was on.

that's usually going to mean you have a layer 1 issue or a nic card issue if the port is bouncing .

The switch is connected to PCs in a campus (almost 40 access switches and 1000 PCs)
I haven't tried it yet, actually this problem occured for different users, every week almost 5 cases, and the problem will continue with different users(ports). Is it possibble because of the user device(PC)?
thanks
