is there any way to give priority to a specific switchport over the other port into a 2950 switch?

i was thinking to give priority to a specific machine which running a special program connecting in that port....does spanning tree priority covers this need?

No, STP handles loops in the network. If you are looking for Quality of Service, the 2950 switch is very limited on that aspect.
It's the source and destination device on the same switch ?
